Architects Kengo Kuma and Associates designed this unique Starbucks coffee shop in Dazaifu, Japan. Inspired by a nearby Shinto shrine, the designers envisioned a place of refuge, something like an iced Venti-cooled, meditation-inducing cave. The most outstanding of features within the design overall has to be the diagonally-woven lattice of over 2,000 wooden batons, a piece inspired by traditional architecture. Muted tones and a glass facade round out the design.
I think it’s time for a coffee break, don’t you?

Wow.
I wish more of the world was like what I see in the Rayograph. Truly.
