Mexico City-based artist El Curiot creates some pretty swell murals down Mexico way. Favio Martinez – as he is otherwise known – artfully melds cultural elements and characteristics from indigenous art, letting his imagination run wild on large urban surfaces around his city base. Some of the characters he creates look to me like futuristic updates of Aztec and Maya warriors or deities. Anyway you choose to look at them, the characters met and the fables told in these pieces are pretty fantastic.
