New Zealand’s own Fearon Hay Architects designed the breathtakingly beautiful Cliff House in Auckland. Overlooking Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf, this two-story contemporary-chic marvel is designed and situated so as to have maximal views while being protected from foul weather. Materials wise, glass, metal, and stone are prominent throughout the structure. From the outside swimming pool to the interior’s furnishings, everything in this house seems to mirror and emphasize the floorplan’s length. Besides the near 360-degree views, my favorite thing about this house has to be that one open-air platform equipped with a bathtub with optimal views and a shower-fall that emerges from the ceiling above. I mean, who is going to see you out there – a seagull?
