Thank goodness it’s Friday, and thank goodness, at least in the realm of architecture, for Zaha Hadid. The Iraqi-British, Pritzker Prize-winning architect really is a “starchitect.” Perhaps the word has been overused a bit, but I’m going to use it anyways because, as I just said, it’s Friday. The latest and greatest from London-based firm Zaha Hadid Architects is the Galaxy Soho in Beijing. The overall design of the gargantuan office, retail, and entertainment complex is true to the firm’s signature style, which very often leaves one wondering if the building you are looking at is secretly a space ship waiting to blast off.
