Meghan Howland’s Paintings of Emotive Faces Amidst Swirling, Colorful Feathers

Based out of Maine, artist Meghan Howland paints beautiful, emotive portraits of figures ringed and wreathed by all manner of winged creature. Sometimes a swirl of colorful wings obscures our view of the imagined individual’s expression, while at other times the motion and hue of the birds reflect and perhaps amplify the emotions we witness each subject experiencing. See more of the artist’s moody creations at her site.
